JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP (JSW)
funded by Citizenship & Immigration Canada

The society started offering Job Search Workshops in 1998 with funding from the CIC. The workshop helps newcomers develop effective job search strategies and learn techniques to overcome any obstacles in their search for employment. It also allows newcomers to share their experiences and receive support and encouragement. All workshops are facilitated in Tamil and English.

The Job Search Workshops are three days in length, free of charge and can be taken during weekdays.

Your Job Search facilitators at the society will also help you with job leads, placements and employment. As a client of the JSW, you will get
  • free access to computers, printers and telephones
  • Fax machines, photocopiers
  • Internet access
  • Ongoing follow-up and support
To be eligible for the JSW program, you must
  • be a permanent resident of Canada
  • be a landed immigrant or live-in caregiver
  • be able to communicate in English Language
  • have been in Canada for less than 3 years
  • be able to attend a 3 day, full-day training program
Canadian Citizens, visitors or refugee claimants are not eligible for the JSW program.
