TESOC is engaged in professional Psychotherapy and Counselling to Multicultural clients. Counselling Service is given in English, Tamil and Sinhala.

We also train "skilled helpers" who will be able to do basic Counselling and make referals to the clients who need psychotherapy or counselling. We also hold information meetings on various issues faced by the community in relation the needs the community for psychotherapy and counselling.

Who seek our help? The Tamil saying says it all: "Veedukku Veedu Vasatpadi" which means "Every Home Troubled Home"

Some homes do not have the resource to contain the "distress"! We need help - this is the help TESOC offers with professional psychtherapists and trained "skilled helpers" to grow as happy families.

We help married couples and whole families in distress. Since some who did not receive help on time,and the laws of the land has been contravened by domestic violence, spouse abuse, child abuse etc. We help them who are in this situation.

We have a spciealized counsellor to care of persons in distress due to alcohol abuse, drink & driving. We do 4th & 5th steps counselling in the A.A. program. Tamil A.A. members give us assistance in our work. Distress caused by addictions to substance abuse, gambling and sex abuse is also taken care of.

We help those who are in depression, those with PTSD: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We also do post-psychiatric counselling.

We refer: Our professional counsellor is also a trainer of counsellors and Paretning skills and children Counselling. We refer persons interested in training to him. He also does elswhere group therapy sessions to those who are referred to us by Courts, by Probation and Parole Officers, Children Aid Society (CAS), lawyers and other social agencies.
