Language Instructions for Newcomers to Canada(LINC)

This programme is for youth 18 to 24 years of age and fully funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.100% FREE OF CHARGE($0.00 cost to you). These classes offer the learning of Basic English and cover the 4 skill areas of SPEAKING, LISTENING, READING, WRITING AND COMPUTER LITERACY.

The curriculum involves topics which help clients learn about aspects of the Canadian way of life and covers basics such as banking, places of interest and the weather. We offer LINC classes for all levels.

The programme will:
  • Help Youth to gain entry to College or University
  • Help Youth to enter to workforce
  • Help Youth to improve their employability in the labour market
  • Provide information and resource about the Canadian systems

To be eligible for the LINC program, you must:

  • Be a permanent resident of Canada, or Convention Refugee, or be a person in Canada whose application for Permanent Resident status is being processed in Canada and who has been informed by a letter from Citizenship and Immigration Canada of the initial approval of your application subject to an admissibility assessment (this means you have approval-in-principle);
  • Be of legal school-leaving age within your province or territory (in Ontario, age 18) and not older than 24 years old;

You are not eligible for LINC if you are a:

  • Canadian citizen
  • Refugee claimant
  • Temporary resident (such as foreign student, foreign worker or visitor)

Free Tokens are given to eligible clients, subject to availability.
